Biology for SSC CGL Part 2: Bacteria, Protozoan, Fungus causing diseases.

BACTERIA
'Bacteria is acellular organism that are always live in atmosphere.' These are of two types.
Aerobic:
Anaerobic:
Bacteria was discovered by "ANTONY VAN LEEUWENHOEK". He was also father of bacteriology. He also discovered compound microscope and first living cell - "Sperm Cell".

FUNGUS

  • Fungus is a multicellular saprophyte.
  • E.g Mushroom, yeast, bread moulds
  • Cell wall of fungi is made of 'chitin'.
  • Study of fungus is called 'Mycology'.

Fungal Disease

RINGWORM

  • Fungus: Tricophyton rubrum.
  • Affected part: Skin
  • Caused by blade fillers used by barbers.

Dandruff and Baldness are also caused by fungal infections.

SCABIES (Sarcoptic mange)
Caused by: Itch Mite
Scabial lotion is used to prevent it from further continuation.

Dermatitis also known as eczema is an inflammation of skin, it is also a fungal infection
